Ingredients:
For the Brownies:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 ripe bananas)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Brown Butter Frosting:
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and sour cream until combined.
Stir in the mashed bananas. Then, add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
For the frosting, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until it turns a golden brown color and smells nutty, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a mixing bowl, combine browned butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk, stirring until smooth and spreadable. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies. Cut into squares and serve.
