Cherry Bliss Bars Quick and Easy

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1 tablespoon milk

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 15×10-inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, stirring just until combined.
Spread about 3/4 of the batter into the prepared pan. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the batter. Drop small spoonfuls of the remaining batter over the cherry filling.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the bars are lightly browned. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack.
In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bars. Cut into squares to serve.
